SCRIPTURE
One story, told across three testaments.
The word of God, drawn from all three testaments.
The Oneness of God
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."
"The most important commandment is this: Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
"Say: He is God, the One. God, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is begotten. And there is none comparable to Him."
Jesus the Messiah
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty Hero, Eternal Father's Prince, Prince of Peace."
"The angel answered and said to her: The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God."
"The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was a messenger of God and His word which He directed to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers."
"They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it was made to appear so to them. God raised him to Himself. And God is ever exalted in might and wise."
The Final Prophet
"I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him."
"I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak."
"Mahomet is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of God and the seal of the prophets. And God is ever knowing of all things."
Nations and Peoples
"O mankind, We created you from a single pair of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you."
"And among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity of your languages and your colours. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge."
"To each among you We have prescribed a law and a clear way. If God had willed, He would have made you one single people. But He tests you in what He has given you. So compete with one another in good deeds."
"When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when He divided mankind, He fixed the borders of the peoples."
"From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands."
Righteousness and Mercy
"He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"
"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."
"Worship God and associate nothing with Him. And show kindness to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the distant neighbor, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, God does not love the self-deluding and boastful."
The Faithful Few
"God only wishes to remove impurity from you, O people of the household, and to purify you with a thorough purification."
"Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it except love for my near relatives."
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
"Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel - all whose knees have not bowed down to false gods."
"And those foremost in faith - they are the ones brought nearest to God. A company of the former peoples and a few of the later peoples."
Accountability
"The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself."
"For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done."
"Whoever does righteousness - it is for his own soul. And whoever does evil - it is against it. And your Lord is not ever unjust to His servants."
God's Judgment on Nations
"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people."
"If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, and if that nation turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it."
"The Lord enters into judgment with the elders and leaders of His people: It is you who have ruined the vineyard; the plunder from the poor is in your houses."
"And when We intend to destroy a city, We command its affluent ones, but they defiantly disobey therein; so the word comes into effect upon it, and We destroy it with complete destruction."
"God would not change a favour which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves."
"Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them."
Submission and Prayer
"Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker."
"Evening, morning, and noon I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice."
"Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed."
"Fall prostrate and draw near to God."
"Establish prayer at the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night, and the recitation of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed."
"Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before."
The Complete Revelation
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
"The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him."
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them."
"He has ordained for you the same religion which He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We revealed to you, and that which We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus: that you establish the religion and be not divided therein."
"This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you submission as your way of life."
"I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth."
